Alice Deal Middle School
Think globally. Listen compassionately. Act inclusively
Alice Deal Middle School has a strong history of providing an outstanding education to students in the District of Columbia. With a tradition of excellence since its doors first opened in 1931, Deal has grown and evolved. Today’s Deal is home to engaged and caring students, an accomplished and committed staff, and an education that is second to none.
For the 2009-2010 school year, Deal is completing its final year of candidacy in our pursuit of International Baccalaureate World School status. This prestigious program combines a commitment to rigor with the development of the whole child. The IB Middle Years Program provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages all students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world.
Deal serves students in grades 6th through 8th in a beautifully redesigned and renovated state-of-the-art building. Our thoroughly modernized school provides Deal’s student with athletic facilities, open public areas, and a cafeteria that looks out on our new fields. Classrooms boast the latest technology, with numerous Mac workstations supplemented by several computer labs and SmartBoard systems. Today at Deal our building and our academic program help us realize our mission.
Alice Deal Middle School inspires excellence, curiosity, and compassion through intellectual and social engagement.
